I use and stock my favorite Quilters Dream batting in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend. If you are interested in another batting type, please let me know and I can always order special for you.
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 8" margin) and charge $0.35 per inch.
For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 68" of the batting of your choice.
68" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.35/in = $23.80

Square Inch Price
2 cents for all designs.

Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .02 = $96.
My minimum quilting charge is $40. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $40 minimum.
Batting
I stock Glide (#40 weight) and some specialty threads (such as monopoly and glitter threads). I charge a $10 thread and needle charge. This ensures you receive a fresh needle for your quilt and covers any amount of thread I may need to use on your quilt.
My personal style attempts to complement one of the lighter or prominent colors of your quilt, allowing the thread to be seen yet not take away from the quilt design. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.
Shipping
Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in Wisconsin, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.
Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.
Other Costs
As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price. I'm required by the State of Wisconsin to collect a 5.5% sales tax on the batting as well as the quilting service portion of an invoice. Shipping and any design/pantograph fees are not subject to sales tax.
Payment
After the work is complete, I will invoice you via PayPal. I really do appreciate timely payments as that enables me to mail your project(s) back to you right away.
