Along with my nieces and nephew receiving custom bed quilts, I have enjoyed creating a custom quilt for a family friend’s daughter. They wanted something simple, unique, and of course featuring the colors of the rainbow.
We spent several weeks going over various rainbow quilts on Pinterest and Instagram. We finally decided on a design that I used as inspiration. Something rainbow, but not totally rainbow. Something that would allow the quilt to grow with the recipient.
I went to work creating the quilt, and it was one of the first quilts that I had quilted on my new Simply Sixteen longarm. I got great at wavy lines :) Ha Ha! To bind the quilt, I decided to use all my scraps from the rainbow colors and create a scrappy rainbow binding. I think it turned out wonderful and lives on CeCe's bed today. Being snuggled and loved.
Commission quilts are fun, but I like completing them sparingly. Sometimes they can take the fun out of quilting, and I never want to stop quilting.
If you are interested in a custom creation, reach out and I am happy to discuss.
